H.E Jameela Bin Salim Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, and H.E Ohoud Bin Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Director General of Prime Minister’s Office, commended the efforts exerted by the team at the Ministry of Education to accelerate the enrolment rate in kindergartens in the Emirate of Dubai to 100% within 90 days as part of its work to expedite the achievement of one of the objectives of the national agenda in the field of education.
This statement was made during Al Muhairi and Al Roumi’s visit to Al Bara’a government kindergarten in Dubai where a school semester was created to accommodate the number of students who were on the waiting lists. This was done within the framework of the government accelerations, launched by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
H.E Jameela Bin Salim Al Muhairi emphasized that the Ministry of Education made a series of educational solutions to achieve the government accelerations related to increasing the rate of enrolment of Emirati students in government and private kindergartens, indicating that the new classrooms are one of the means proposed to overcome the density of students in kindergartens to accommodate more numbers.
Her Excellency expressed her intense optimism at achieving government accelerations, due to the concerted efforts in the field and what she had observed during her visit. This was in regards to advancement in this respect, and the hard work made by the Ministry’s team which is considered a true implementation of the wise leadership’s directions, represented by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the indicators of the national agenda through increasing the rate of enrolment in kindergartens, and to find innovative solutions to overcome the challenges and obstacles that may impede the project of developing continuous education, which the Ministry is keen to be satisfactory and responsive to the ambitions of the wise leadership and to serve the goals and agenda of the State and its future aspirations through the creation of sustainable competitive education.
Al Roumi: Achievement of prompt sustainable results in all vital sectors with education at the forefront
H.E Ohoud Al Roumi stressed the importance of the government accelerations as an innovative future tool to support the government’s efforts in achieving the targets of the national agenda and instilling the notion of culture, innovation, and attainment of leadership and excellence in government work, which will lead to rapid and sustainable results and elevation in the efficiency of performance in all vital sectors, particularly education, to realize the UAE 2021 vision..
Al Roumi praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education to expedite the achievement of government goals and provide education with innovative possibilities that will pave the way for promoting the educational process and enhance its role in building a sustainable, knowledgeable society.
Al Roumi stated that the government accelerations express the leadership’s vision and future directions toward development of government work by establishing joint work teams to intensify efforts and expedite implementation of quality objectives within specific timeframes.
Al Muhairi: Integrative relationship between the government and private sectors
H.E. Jameela Al Muhairi added that the Ministry of Education is operating on a profound vision, stemming from thoroughly formulated methodological plans and in an integrative manner with the various sectors and government and private organizations, to achieve the best solutions that offer the desired advancement. She indicated that kindergarten represents one of the most important age groups and the Ministry is paying great attention to it as it represents an establishment stage for children, taking into account their proper mental and psychological development, and the gradual building of their personalities. Kindergartens also contribute to nurturing children’s knowledge and providing them with varied life skills, and represent a foundation for learning in preparation for other stages of study.
Her Excellency clarified that the Ministry of Education’s acceleration team ensured limiting the number of students on waiting lists, as a prelude to providing them with an incubating learning environment in kindergartens. In this context, a series of radical solutions have been developed to accommodate them, in addition to focusing on opening effective communication channels with parents, to raise awareness and educate and encourage them to enrol their children at that stage, which is an important step in ensuring the academic future of the student.
Her Excellency stressed upon administration and teaching staff the need to achieve the highest standard of effective learning and provision of attention to this category of students, indicating that the Ministry has developed innovative educational curricula to addresses this category, and employed all available possibilities to develop the kindergarten stage in line with the State’s directions to achieve high quality educational outputs, thus enhancing the existence of generations capable of leading the development, setting the standards of leadership in different parts of the State, and contributing to the transition towards an economy of knowledgeable society.
Limiting number of students and provision of places to accommodate them
The Ministry of Education’s acceleration team has limited the number of students on waiting lists and proceeded to provide all that is necessary to accommodate them in kindergartens. They also contacted parents to advise them to register their children in this stage, based on the places made available by the team to accommodate them.
The solutions provided by the Minister of Education’s team included establishment of classrooms especially for them, and distributing them among several kindergartens in order to merge them within the early learning environment, to benefit from that stage in formulating their awareness and developing their knowledge, in accordance with the special kindergarten plans prepared by the Ministry.
Government accelerations – a work mechanism of the future
Government accelerations are considered a future work mechanism that includes joint work teams from government employees and both the private and academic sector, whereby their work is centred around principal sectors and fields, in order to increase the pace of achieving the national agenda and accelerate the implementation of the government's strategic projects through dedicated and innovative work places, where joint work teams can operate under the supervision of a select group of managers, supervisors and global experts, to provide intensive programs within short durations.
It also provides services to all participating government bodies with a main focus to expedite achievements of the national agenda’s goals through four main fields; national indicators, policies, programs and initiatives, and government services. These are to be achieved by forming joint work teams from various bodies in the State, to resolve challenges and implement goals by benefiting from international experience and innovations, to achieve leadership and excellence in government work through the implementation of projects, and the utilization of experiences via pioneering and innovative working methods conducive to achieving rapid results and ensuring sustainability.
