The supreme
committee of the “Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher” has organized
a special ceremony to honor and celebrate the winners as well as the
distinguished participants in the award and celebrate them and their
achievements. In addition to the committee members, the ceremony, which was
held in Abu Dhabi, was attended by a number of GCC officials, members of
committees and guests of the award.
Earlier, the
award announced the teachers who had won the award, which was launched under
the directives and kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed
Forces, to cover a number of GCC countries.
The winners
were Rashid Ali Hashem, a physical education teacher from the UAE, and Fawzia
Dhuwaiher Al Maghamsi, a mathematics teacher from Saudi Arabia. They achieved this
victory and educational landmark for their excellent efforts in applying all
the criteria of the award on the way to educational leadership and also their
initiatives, which helped develop the educational environment and were considered
one of the most influential practices in the process of development of
education.
Both
winners received an award of AED 1 million each in view of their excellence. The
top 20 achievers in the award were also offered an exploratory and training
trip with dedicated training courses to the world's most prestigious
foundations and think tanks.
In
addition, two teachers, Heba Abdul Aziz Salmeen from Kuwait and Amina Nabeel Al
Rumaihi from Bahrain, were honored for their excellence and received AED 100,000
each.
The winners
and Honored teachers expressed their delight in this genuine devotion to education
as embodied by the award based on HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed's directives.
They also thanked HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed for his support for the
development and sustainability of education through the teacher. This shows the
attention paid by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed to teachers at the local and GCC
levels and his belief in their capabilities and pivotal role in enriching the
education process and producing national generations that are the source of
pride of all of us.
