Ministry of Education launches “Al-Diwan” and “Smart learning gate” Applications for telephone during its participation in GITEX.
The Ministry of Education, during its participation in GITEX at Dubai World Trade Centre, has launched a bouquet of the Smart Applications that are available on Apple Store and Android, which will contribute to the development of the state educational system, and pave the road towards Smart Learning. This is in collaboration with the ministry’s strategy which aims at employing technology to support the schooling community and educational staff, to realize the optimum exploitation of technology in education.
Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs Marwan Al Sawalih, said that the Ministry of Education has introduced an ambitious concept and is planning the Process of Transformation to Smart Education, in cooperation with the main stream trend of the government and its vision for the year 2021; the desired introduction of technology into the education sector to upgrade it to a leading position globally; and finally to cope with ongoing changes in the educational fields thus realizing the concept of optimum investment in our human resources mainly represented by students.
The ministry, within its strategic objectives has prepared mechanism, and formed special teams with the task of implementing the “Transformation to Smart Education” as per a specific time table. H.E reminded the public of the fact that the ministry has launched a bouquet of services for a high quality effect in pushing towards smart education.
The smart application, launched by the Ministry of Education through GITEX, included the Smart Learning Gate and Al-Diwan applications which were especially prepared for smart phones. A bouquet of services like “Hakibat Al-Etihad Al Ibtikariah” and Education Data Centre services were also displayed.
Smart Education Gate targets all joints of the education process ”Students, Parents and Teachers”, which means a fully integrated schooling community capable of realizing effective intercommunication among all concerned parties, and flexible monitoring of students by allowing the parents to watch the progress of the school day. This application also spared the parents some time and effort required to follow up on the performance of their children through allowing direct contract with the school administration.
Al-Diwan Application was launched by the Ministry of Education early this school year. It is especially intended to make school text books available to students electronically on their individual panel sets. It is a kind of interactional application that allows students to address questions through searching drives supported by this application, which is currently made available at all governmental schools. It will later be introduced at the private schools which apply the ministry’s curriculum.
At its platform in GITEX, the ministry displayed a smart system that allows checking student attendance. This system was designed by two female students from Fatima Al- Zhara’a Secondary School using “Hakibat Al-Etihad Al Ibtikariah” which helps students transform thoughts and ideas into invention projects with the best interests of the school community in mind.
The ministry also presented the services of its Education Date Services centre which acts to introduce all school-related information regarding the progress of the school day processes. This Centre collects and analyses decision makers in the educational process.
