Her Highness Jameela Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, stressed that the moral upbringing has its clear manifestations in the various aspects of our daily life. It is crystalized in a set of values, principles, ethics and ideals advised by the wise leadership to be instilled in us and in the future generations to maintain our place among the happiest and most developed, civilized and well-behaved peoples around the world.
Her Highness gave this speech on behalf of His Highness Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, in the opening of the 2nd student forum of Emirates National Schools held last Thursday in Abu Dhabi under the motto of (Moral upbringing is a product of a future forward-looking vision).
Her Highness said that the moral upbringing is one of the most courses that can be merged with the rest of the school courses and activities and easily integrated in the core of the students’ lives. It can be taught in the prominent state facilities and vibrant cities, being unlimited to a specific context. Moral upbringing depends on a set of high values whose seeds need to be watered in ourselves.
Her Highness addressed the students saying: Your success lies in your vision to the distinguished individuals who have good morals and high skills; in your pursuit to be positive, effective and able to express your ideas efficiently and to work hard, assiduously and productively; in the representation of the UAE values of moderation and exchange of respect and in being successful and positive actors, revealing yourselves to be the fruit of moral upbringing.
Her Highness quoted the words of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah bless his soul, “Without morals, good conduct and learning, nations fail in building their coming generations and in performing their duties. Civilization is the product of learning, high values, courage and roots deepened in the past with branches up to the present and future.”
She called the headmasters and teaching staffs to provide the students with good and principled models to be followed; to inspire students by focusing on refining their characters and to turn this course into a real fact that reflects on the students’ words and deeds.
Her Highness called the educational field to center on the school book and the life and practical projects which we expect to be the raw material for building our students’ high principles and referred to the importance of applying creative methodological assessment techniques that keep track of our students’ progress regarding acquiring the high principles and good manners.
