The Ministry of Education (MoE) has revealed that the education
landscape for the new academic year 2020-2021 will be more flexible and lively
as parents have been given the opportunity to choose either school attendance
or distance learning for their children for the first semester. The move is
aimed at achieving stability for the school community and ensuring the safety
of students while meeting the physical distancing requirements.
“As the new academic year 2020-2021 is approaching, we are pleased for
our students to resume study on August 30th as part of precautionary
and preventive measures and mechanisms that serve the interest of students and
contribute to achieving the highest health and safety standards in the school
environment”, the MoE said.
The MoE explained that according to the latest developments and based on
the current health conditions, careful plans were taken to ensure a gradual
return of students of all educational stages in all UAE schools without
exception.
A document related to the return of students to schools has been
developed, the MoE said, adding that the document contains a set of protocols,
requirements and precautionary measures that must be followed by all UAE educational
facilities in order to create a safe, healthy and learning-stimulating educational
environment when operating educational facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The MoE affirmed that its work teams, in co-operation and co-ordination
with the UAE educational authorities, would make sure that schools continually
observe the approved precautionary measures and protocols before and during
school hours to achieve the highest security and safety standards.
