Al Bayt Mitwahid and Airbus, in a partnership with the MOE, organize a program to send 6 students to Airbus factories in Toulouse in France, as part of the future scientists' initiative organized by Al Bayt Mitwahid and Airbus International Civil Aviation which aims at encouraging UAE distinguished students to engage in aviation sector and search for future professional options in this vital sector.
The visit, which will last from 1st – 7th of July next year, aims at motivating the students to interact in the fields of science, technology and engineering and promoting their knowledge about the aviation sector. The MOE deals with these students as a new nucleus to increase their peers' awareness of the importance of aviation industry and their future role in this field. In addition, it will help them to develop their skills towards positive thinking and increase their personal experiences along with motivating them to continue studying specializations of aviation to meet the State's needs in this field and to introduce the society and its culture to students through visits to historical landmarks in the city.
The students participating in the trip were chosen after a series of interviews and tests in accordance with several criteria represented in the desire to study various fields of aviation, students' contributions to volunteer work, scientific, cultural and guiding competitions as well as the ability to work with a team spirit and to face challenges through placing them in conditions simulating the problems which they may experience.
The program includes a field visit to most of Airbus's training centers in Toulouse and a visit to the final assembly factories of the world's best-selling A320s, the most modern A350 in addition to the manufacturing center of A380 which is the largest aircraft in the civil aviation field in the world along with a tour to the most famous touristic and archaeological attractions in Toulouse as a city famous for space games and old aircrafts museum.
The initiative will provide up to 21 Emirati high school students with the opportunity to discover the aeronautics industry over a period of three years through engaging hands-on sessions. The participants will have the chance to learn about best industry practices, gain exposure to real-life aerospace challenges and receive mentorship and advice on the career path in this field through meeting the experts of the company and having discussions with them in many sessions.
The program also includes activities such as industrial field visits in Europe and the UAE, regular classroom sessions with industry experts and access to regional and global aerospace events. At the end of the program, the students will obtain training at Airbus or its industry partners’ facilities in the UAE along with the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals.
