His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in tweets at his page on the social networking site «Twitter», wrote that the UAE is always betting on young people and events, such as the Global Skills Competition which helps them to identify their points of strength, and to know the careers of the future.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, visited yesterday Abu Dhabi 2017 Global Skills Competition, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,which is staged at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
His Highness visited the pavilions participating in the exhibition accompanying the competition, including the "people of determination" pavilion. His Highness talked with the participants, praising their efforts in this unique international event. This reflects the state's commitment to achieve the active participation of "people of determination" in society, and to affirm their important role.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed that the UAE's hosting of the Global Skills Competition Abu Dhabi 2017 embodies its vision of the future, and its support for young people who represent its strategic potential for the future. He praised the outcomes of this international event, and the rich and fruitful discussions that brought together experts, officials and young people from 62 countries around the world.
The Global Skills Competition (Abu Dhabi 2017) witnessed the participation of 1300 contestants from 59 countries who competed in 51 different skills, including aircraft maintenance, mobile robots, landscaping, fashion technology, graphic design and many more.
The Abu Dhabi 2017 Global Skills Competition was designed to instill inspiration among young people, and urging them to engage in technical education, and vocational skills to be the tool that allows them to set up their own businesses, and upgrade their careers in line with the development and the vision of the UAE 2021.
