On 13th August, the Ministry of Education (MOE) started selling the school uniform for the coming year through points of sale (POS) specified in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. MOE ensured that all the necessary measures are taken to make the school uniform available and obtainable by students.
The MOE contracted with two school uniform suppliers: Uniform Express and Senaat. Each company is concerned with the school uniform distribution to specific regions to ensure work progress with no obstacles.
Out of its keenness on affording the school uniform on a geographical distribution basis, the MOE specified 8 POS around Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Al Mulla Plaza Mall will sell the school uniform in Dubai, while it will be distributed in Umm al-Quwain by Uniform Express POS based on King Faisal Street, Al Raas, behind Umm al-Quwain Hospital. In Fujairah, it will be sold by the POS in Three Stars Building, Airport Road, in front of the Civil Defense, by the school uniform POS in Sheikh Sultan Street, Kalba Corniche in Kalba and by the POS located at Al Musalla, Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Street in Khor Fakkan.
The MOE stated that Senaat will provide Sharjah, Ajman and Ras al-Khaimah with the school uniform via Sharjah Ladies Club. In Ajman, the POS is located at Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel and in Ras al-Khaimah, the school uniform will be available at RAK Mall, Al Qurm Street.
The MOE pointed out that grade nine will be added to certain girl secondary stage schools, where students may wear the secondary stage school uniform.
The MOE set the school uniform rates in a manner that considers family economic and living circumstances, and avoids burdening the family financially. The MOE committed both suppliers to complying with the rates determined to take the various strata conditions into account.
