The dialogue on Teachers' Policies in Arab Countries – Reality and Aspirations, which kicked off yesterday under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, concluded yesterday.
The dialogue was organized as part of a strategic partnership between the Regional Center for Educational Planning in the UAE and the UNESCO represented by the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Beirut, the UNESCO Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education and the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
H.E. Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Abdul Khaleq Al Qarni, Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, H.E Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Asimi, Deputy Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a number of officials, specialists and experts participated in the dialogue.
The virtually organized dialogue aims at exploring the impact of the teacher's current policies on education systems in the Arab Region and ways to enhance these policies and discuss the best ways for developing teachers' effectiveness and identifying the best practices and policies related to them in Arab countries and countries of the world.
It also aims at understanding the relevant procedures that have been recognized and adopted by international organizations as well as highlighting the links between teacher's policies and improvement of education quality and achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Education 2030.
The participants in the dialogue stressed the importance for education systems to keep pace with the accelerating developments and updates in the field of education and to work continuously to develop their tools with a view to keeping them effective and flexible, particularly in light of the current circumstances that pressured all sectors, especially education.
