His
Excellency Dr. Ahmed Bahloul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education
and Advanced Skills, approved on Wednesday 1 August 2018 the names of students
admitted to the government’s higher education institutions and students who
have received scholarships under the external scholarships program for the
academic year 2018-2019.
His
Excellency congratulated the students who completed the secondary school level
and wished them further progress and success, stressing the importance of the
students’ selections for academic disciplines that will achieve the aspirations
and directions of UAE for the coming years. In this context, His Excellency
further stressed the country’s need for competent national cadres capable of
continuing the development process the country is witnessing, and enabling it
to reach the forefront of pioneering countries in innovation, space science,
medicine, engineering and entrepreneurship.
It
is noteworthy that the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the
governmental higher education institutions, implemented the conditional early
admission system in April 2018, which is a more systematic verification tool
for the registration process and facilitating procedures. It is also a means of
educating students and giving them the opportunity to apply to the best
universities inside and outside UAE. In addition, it serves another purpose:
urging students to sustain their academic excellence, as they are granted admission
by the universities early in the registration process based on the information
and results of the tenth and eleventh grades in addition to the first and
second semesters of the twelfth grade. Such admission is conditional until the
student obtains the final results of the twelfth grade and thus ensure his/her
seat at the university and the study course he wishes to join ".
The
number of students who received the early admission acceptance reached 12,854
male and female students for the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019,
including 4315 at the UAE University, 5743 at the Higher Colleges of
Technology, 1735 at Zayed University and 430 at the institutes and colleges of
the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, 316
at Khalifa University and 8 at Mohammed V University, Abu Dhabi.
On
the other hand, the number of students who benefit from the External
Scholarships Program reached 307 male and female students, 263 of which were
undergraduate and 44 postgraduate students, with the possibility of
increasing the number of students who benefit from this program in view of the completion of
special procedures for a number of students in institutions of higher education
outside UAE in the coming days.
In a
related context, the Ministry of Education called on students enrolled in the
portal of the e-student of government higher education institutions and
external scholarships at the expense of the Ministry, to use their
username and password and access their electronic page on the link below, where
the student will be able to confirm the status of his request:
