The Ministry of Education has launched the "Sanadcom" initiative, which targets students who are children of the medical, administrative, and nursing staff working in the country, and who are the first line of defense against the Covid-19 virus. The initiative aims to promote academic progress in this category and meeting all their technical and psychological requirements, as their parents are busy fighting this pandemic.
This initiative, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Preventions, embodies the principle of partnership and social responsibility enjoyed by various institutions nationwide to support medical workers in the country within the team fighting the outbreak of the Coronavirus. It aims to provide all aspects of support to them so that their children can continue their educational journey remotely in a manner that they continue to fully acquire sciences, knowledge, and skills.
The Ministry of Education will determine the number of students from the medical, administrative, and nursing staff in the country by distributing an introductory form to all of its targets in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention to provide all the requirements for the success of the initiative and the achievement of its goals. Teachers, technical cadres, and psychological counselors will be provided to perform their tasks as soon as possible to ensure the sustainability of students' access to high-quality education. The door will also be open to volunteering through the "Teach for UAE" platform to attract teaching competencies willing to contribute to this distinguished educational and humanitarian effort.
Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Care and Activities Sector, said that the initiative is a continuation of the various efforts of government institutions, especially those working in the health sector. It will ensure that children of medical workers get quality education, similar to others students, through the smart distance learning system that the Ministry has implemented it since the crisis began.
She clarified that the initiative addresses three parts, the first which of which is providing academic support for students by a group of teachers. The second part aims to simulate the technical support for students from the children of the health sector and provide all their needs such as tablets and other tools necessary to continue their education. The third part is providing psychological support to students by qualified specialists.
She added that the Ministry of Education seeks through this initiative to provide the highest levels of care for this group of students like the rest of their peers to achieve the principle of complementarity in institutional work in various sectors of government work and respond to the obligations and duties imposed by the nature of this stage and its requirements which calls for mobilizing efforts to pass the current crisis competently.
She stressed the importance of joining efforts to perform educational mission optimally and not to overlook any class of students whose parents are involved in the meantime in confronting the Coronavirus and providing all possible support to them to maintain their educational progress and keep it going without any obstacles or difficulties.
She pointed out that the initiative will work, in cooperation and coordination with the Supreme National Committee for Volunteering, to benefit from the capabilities of the committee to activate the initiative accurately and provide it with the necessary human cadres to fulfill its mission.

Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services Foundation stressed the importance of the "Sanadcom" initiative to support the educational capabilities of the children of the medical staff in the current circumstance and shows a culture of solidarity in government efforts that work as one team according to the directives of our wise leadership.
Al-Serkal praised the efforts of the Ministry of Education towards upgrading the educational system facing all challenges and its keenness to provide an appropriate educational environment for the children of the medical staff and support them academically and psychologically. This contributes to raising the morale of the healthcare frontliners and makes them assured of the academic achievement of their children and receiving special care.
He added that this initiative enables them to exert more effort and dedication and gives them the ability to succeed in facing and fighting COVID-19, in this exceptional stage in which the institutions of the UAE have proved their efficiency in overcoming it.
His Excellency clarified that the Ministry of Health and Prevention, driven by its keenness to achieve the best results from the "Sanadcom" initiative, will enhance communication channels with the Ministry of Education remotely, to provide all necessary data and information regarding the numbers of students from the medical, administrative, and nursing staff in the ministry. The Ministry of Health will provide all kinds of support necessary for the children of health workers to provide the best suitable educational environment ensuring the maximum benefit from the efforts of the teaching staff, noting the cooperation of the Supreme National Committee for Volunteering as well as providing the appropriate human cadres for the success of the initiative.
Dr. Al Serkal said: "The medical staff in the Ministry of Health and Prevention along with the rest of the health authorities is working with efficiency and determination to protect the UAE community from the repercussions of COVID-19. They also provide healthcare to the rest of the categories of patients, pointing to the ability of the UAE, thanks to the concerted and complementary efforts of the authorities nationwide, to overcome challenges and crises. They work with positive energy and unique government support on all fronts to harness all potentials and energies to successfully overcome the COVID-19 challenge and continue the journey of achievements."
