The Ministry of Education announced the opening of registration for the academic year 2017/2018 for national students and children of Emirati mothers in the public schools for the KG 1 and 2, grade one. Registration started from yesterday until April 30. The ministry set the date of April 16 to start accepting students' applications for the children of Arab expatriates for grade only until 30 April.
The Ministry of Education has set conditions for the completion of the registration of Emirati students and children of Emirati mothers. Conditions include students being of the legal age and to not be student listener. The schools must adhere to the approval of the student file after registration by the Ministry of Education through the SIS system. Public schools and KG must accept new students according to their residential areas, as well as enroll students using ID cards only.
Regarding the registration of children of Arab expatriates, the Ministry of Education stressed that students must pass the personal interview and admission test. The children of Arab expatriates working in the federal or local government will be admitted to the public education schools, providing that the number of accepted student should be only 20% of the total number of school or any given class. Children of expatriates can be accepted if they reside 50 km or more from the nearest private school.
The Ministry of Education pointed out that enrollment in private schools in the KG 1 and 2 and grades one is available to all nationalities. Registration have started yesterday and will last until April 30.
