H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized that both the home and school constitute a great and integral role in the creation of a stable future generation, raised on proper intellectual, cultural and ethical traits. He stressed that everyone should cooperate to achieve the national goals aimed at accomplishing sustainable development with educated, knowledgeable and good citizens as its solid foundation. He further added that everyone should feel a sense of protectiveness towards the higher national interests of our State and the future of its loyal people, which is worth the pain and sacrifice, and we should not hesitate to harness all possibilities to make it a happy place by providing all means of virtuous living for both the existing and successive generations.
His Highness’s statement was made during his visit on the first day of the new school year of 2017-2018 to check on students and ensure their attendance at the Ministry of Education schools in all emirates of the State.

Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, who had accompanied him during his tour, the importance of raising a future generation based on proper intellectual, cultural and ethical traits, and provision of an immaculate environment that nurtures these values through education, knowledge and morals and the love of one’s country and desire to serve society.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum pointed at the main role of teachers in raising generations and preparing them for the requirements of our times in various humanities and skills while preserving our culture and ancestors’ Arabian traditions so that our beloved country remains a symbol of solemn communication between a rooted past, noble present and hopeful future, and an oasis of creativity, innovation and endless human giving under a wise and generous leadership that desires and aims at having a distinguished civilizational and humane State that creates a proper future for our forthcoming generations.
Beginning
In statements posted by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, he confirmed that the beginning of the new school year represents a new social and active life driven by teachers and created by students which provides positive energy to the entire community.
His Highness added: I tell students they are our hopes and future and to teachers, I say you are the creators of hope and future and to all those in the education field, thank you, wishing the UAE a year full of the highest levels of education. On this occasion, His Highness posted “Today one million students in UAE begin their school year and I joined them during this first day and they shared with me the energy and motivation for further giving and efforts for their future. The beginning of the new school year represents a new social and active life driven by teachers and created by students which provides positive energy to the entire community”

H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum made sure to visit a number of the Ministry’s schools in the Dubai education zone and started his tour by visiting Al Maktoum Boys’ School for Basic Education at Satwa which is considered one of the most modern schools in the State in terms of the international standards of buildings and facilities available and is attended by around 270 students from first to third elementary grades. His Highness toured around the school’s halls and visited several classes and listened while Amna Al Suwaidi, School Principal, gave a detailed explanation of the facilities available at the school such as the gym, laboratories, outdoor playgrounds and Mother of the Nation project for aquaculture and the heritage village.
Bestowments
During his tour, High Highness stopped at the third primary grade class in the first division and listened to the class teacher explaining how students can register for the school card. Thereafter, His Highness visited the second primary grade class in the first division and listened while the teacher explained the bestowments made by the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of the State
His Highness also visited the first primary grade class and was informed of the most important activities and first lessons offered by the school for new students and the method of dealing with them and encouraging them to love school and learning.
The Jumeirah Model Girls School was the second stop within High Highness the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai’s tour and he began his visit by stopping at the class for “disabled” children and listened to the teacher giving class and explaining how to merge them with their normal counterparts. His Highness then stopped at the first primary grade class for girls in the first division and listened to a part of their lesson, thereafter, His Highness took a tour of the smart science laboratory where the teacher explained the contents of the lessons given to students in this important laboratory.

Mariam Mohammed Abdullah, School Principal, explained to His Highness throughout his tour about the school components and activities and lessons given students, whose number is around 780 students distributed among thirty divisions starting from first grade until ninth grade.
His Highness was accompanied during his tour by Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai’s Protocol Department, and Ghaya Al Muhairi, Director General of Dubai Education Zone, and a number of educational leaders.
Congratulations
H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum congratulated students on the beginning of their new school year and wished them success and excellence in their educational journey to become the future mothers with higher qualifications and to contribute to raising future generations on proper social and scientific knowledge.
His Highness also congratulated the teaching staff on the beginning of the new school year and called upon them to exert more effort and employee their experience and energy toward creating and preparing a generation capable of keeping pace with the ongoing modernization in education, creativity and knowledge.
