The Ministry of Education (MoE) is
discussing ways of boosting co-operation with the Ministry of Italian Schools
through a virtual meeting organised by the MoE and hosted by the UAE Embassy in
Italy. The meeting was attended by H.E. Obaid Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to
Italy, Mr. Nicola Lener, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Dr. Hamad Al
Yahyai, H.E. Jan Luca Grandi, Diplomatic Advisor to H.E. Minister of Italian
Schools, and Dr. Sheikh Ammar Al Mualla.
The meeting is aimed at discussing ways of
co-operation and co-ordination between the MoE and the Ministry of Italian
Schools and benefiting from the Italian experience in education fields with a
view to developing education in the UAE. The meeting also comes as part of the
MoE’s endeavour to explore the best educational practices followed in Italy to
support education in the UAE with more unique academic experiences.
The meeting discussed several points such
as exchanging the best educational experiences between the two parties with a
view to building and developing the readiness of educational staff through
joint educational programs and collaborating in the areas of co-operation,
research and electronic learning resources. It also discussed protocols for
reopening schools and the consequential challenges and ways of developing
effective models that would meet the educational needs of students and also preserve
their safety amidst an attractive educational environment capable of consolidating
the desired educational outcomes of both sides.
The attendees discussed ways of boosting
co-operation between the two sides in architecture fields, benefiting from
Italy’s deeply entrenched legacy in this field and establishing joint formulas
between the two sides that would empower the students of the Emirati School in
this field. The meeting also discussed the educational proposals that the UAE
and Italy are set to discuss in the G20 Summit to be held in November.
