The Educational Professions Licensure Department of the Ministry of
Education (MoE) is holding a workshop entitled “Exchanging Best Practices” at
the Ministry’s main building in Abu Dhabi on 22 and 23 June. Representatives
from GCC states, Arab Bureau of Education, and Regional Center for Educational
Planning are attending the workshop to present the best practices and expertise
in the area of professions licensing and to standardize the framework of
professions licensing at the GCC level.
The workshop aims to enhance cooperation between the UAE and GCC states.
It also seeks to achieve the joint GCC objectives to enhance the quality of
education and its objectives, at the heart of it developing the professions
licensing system at the GCC level. This will ensure employing efficient staff in
public education institutions and achieving the objectives of the Saudi-Emirati
Coordination Council to exchange experiences and share visions in various
fields of education.
His Excellence Dr. Hassan
Al Muhairi, Assistant undersecretary of Licensing and Quality Sector, said that
the country’s leadership put education and human development on top of its
priorities and aimed to enable the community with the required capabilities and
skills. He added that the aim was to develop a sustainable economy that is
based on knowledge in all areas and achieve the national objectives, in line
with the leadership’s vision and strategy for the upcoming 50 years.
He said, “In the context of sharing the state’s excellence in all areas
with the brotherly and friendly countries, we organized this workshop and
invited them to attend it to present the progress our country had achieved in
the field of educational professions licensing. The UAE has launched the
educational professions licensing in 2018. It has established ever since the
standards for a number of educational professions. It has also put in place the
licensing procedures for educational sector staff and established development
plans for the educational professions.”

Rawda Al-Murar, Director of the Professions Licensure Department, stressed that the MoE was keen on developing
the education system to achieve high quality outcomes that met the requirements
of the future and kept pace with the era of knowledge, technology, and
innovation. She added that this would have positive reflection on education in
the UAE, according to the best global practices, would elevate the educational
outcomes, and would help offer high-level education to the students.
She explained that the “Exchanging Best Practices” workshop boosted the
strategic cooperation between the UAE and GCC states and reflected the
historical, well-established, and deeply-rooted relations between them. She
added that exchanging the expertise according to the highest standards would
build knowledge society, boost the universality and development of education,
in line with the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC states, and achieve
sustainable development, growth, and prosperity in all fields, especially the
educational sector.
