The Ministry of Education is set to inaugurate two Zayed Education Complexes in Al Barsha and Al Mizhar by the next academic year 2020/2021, with a capacity of over 4300 students, which will serve the new densely populated areas in the emirate of Dubai. The complexes include modern state-of-the-art educational facilities in line with the modern Emirati School that is aligned with the Ministry of Education’s development strategy.

The Zayed Education Complex in Al Barsha comprises students from the second and third cycles and extends over a building area of 42655 sqm, with a capacity of 2601 students. It includes 68 classrooms and 62 laboratories.

This comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan by the Ministry of Education for establishing educational complexes with world-class specifications. At the beginning of the current academic year, the ministry launched the Zayed Educational Complex in the tourist area of the Emirate of Sharjah to be the first educational complex planned by the ministry in various regions of the country.

The Director of Dubai Education Zone, Ghaya Sultan Al Muhairi, said that the Ministry  Education is moving steadily towards developing government educational facilities at the level of Dubai Education Zone, under the vision of the contemporary Emirati school, and within a comprehensive plan developed by the Department of Educational Facilities at the Ministry of Education, based on three general pillars: new construction, development of school buildings that meet the development standards, regular and operational maintenance, with developed and renewable educational curricula and activities.

She stressed that the Ministry has completed a set of schools with modern specifications, and continue its efforts in the plans of transfer and replacement of the remaining schools, and converting them into educational complexes that serve different residential areas, especially high-density population, to achieve a range of educational and social gains, pointing out that the new complexes provide a range of laboratories required by the UAE school curriculum such as health sciences, robotics, manufacturing, physics, chemistry, biology, design and technology, household economics, technology and innovation, computer and activities rooms, in addition to business simulation labs, enterprise labs, media production lab, and learning resource centers.

She added that the teams of the Ministry of Education were able to create educational environments that meet the advanced international standards, and that the new educational complexes have sustainable buildings and are environmentally friendly. The compatibility with the curriculum and requirements of the curriculum of the UAE school has been taken into consideration. Complexes provide all means of security and safety, and commitment to a unified institutional identity and are friendly for people of determination. The design of the educational complexes was based on international manuals, references and benchmarks with other countries.

She added: The school building is one of the most important basics of the educational process, and an influential factor of its success. It increases attainment of students and whenever the school building is appropriate and equipped with all means and amenities, the positive impact on the entire educational process will be more extensive, pointing out that the educational complexes, which the Ministry continues to provide at the level of the UAE, take into account the provision of quality educational and community services in the new densely populated areas. They accommodate more students, which will contribute to the excellence of the Emirati school. She asserted that the Ministry took into consideration, after a survey of all the Emirates, the choice of places to build schools in residential communities for nationals, especially the new ones, and stay away from traffic congestion.

The Ministry of Education strives to create an attractive learning environment for students, in addition to fostering the spirit of belonging to the school and strengthening the relationship between the school and the family to support the educational process. This is done away from the traditional form, to enhance the spirit of belonging of the school students and their parents and provide an attractive and stimulating environment for creativity and innovation, by creating a catalytic infrastructure and world-class specifications.
