About 14 thousand and 598 students enrolled in the Continuing
Education track, have completed the electronic tests held recently at the level
of the state, (both academic and residential). The tests were given to the seventh
to twelfth graders, in 9 subjects. Considering, this is the first time the
students have submitted these Test electronically.
The Ministry
have announced that students in the continuing education track, who were not able
for any reason to retake the tests, to submit their excuses, and will be
provided the period from the 16th to 22nd of this month,
to retake the compensatory tests.
HE Dr. Hamad
Al Yahyai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Curriculum and Evaluation, confirmed that all the tests of the UAE School have
become electronic, following the students of Continuing Education who have
completed their tests electronically recently. This method has been adopted in
order to achieve advanced technology education, as a mean to establish higher
educational standards for the UAE Schools. The E-tests have been implemented to
keep up with the best educational practices, and to ensure the evaluation
process in accordance with universal and global standards.
HE Dr. Al Yahyai
said that the recent electronic tests that were taken by the students of
continuing education, have achieved great success and understanding. The
reactions of both the testers and the teaching staff have been positive and
commendable, due to the smooth process of transition from paper to electronic system,
which supported the evaluation process.
His
Excellency pointed out that the electronic tests developed by the ministry are
in place to serve and achieve several objectives, which are the improvement of
the process of correction and monitoring of the student, and to raise the
efficiency of measuring the achievement of educational outcomes for the students,
and the improvement of the level of integration of the curriculum, along with the
process of evaluation and efficiency reports at the school, in accordance with
the sector and the ministry, accompanied by technological development.
The Ministry
of Education has established a guide for school principals, teachers and
students, to be a reference for their performance with electronic tests for
continuous education, and all related information. The test has been applied in
one subject, and to be taken more than once, to establish professionalism. The
ministry assigned special committees and centers, for the ones in need, and these
centers include all their necessary requirements according to each case.
The ministry
also provided the students with a two-week experimental opportunity, to be
tested in 9 subjects, and provided them with variety of models, and the applied
tests reached 40. The ministry also trained the teachers supervising continuous
education tests in terms of technical and operational procedures.
