The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) has signed a memorandum
of understanding (MoU) with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business (AACSB) in the United States of America with the aim of improving
and developing the CAA’s mechanisms of work and hence ensuring world-class high
quality education in the collegiate schools of business of the UAE higher
education institutions. The MoU is aimed at ensuring the provision of a
competitive academic content compatible with the international frameworks
followed In all schools of business worldwide.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, CAA Director, and Dr.
Tim Mescon, AACSB Executive Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa,
through visual communication technology. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Sheikh Ammar Al
Mualla, Director of Educational Organizations and External
Relations, and a number of concerned people from both sides.
The MoU aims for the CAA
to benefit from the AACSB’s experience in supporting the performance of the
schools of business in the UAE higher education institutions in an innovative
way that adds new dimensions to students ’academic experience in those schools.
It also aims at providing the relevant data that institutions may wish to take
into consideration when creating new higher education programs in the field of
business or expanding the UAE existing programs. Besides, the MoU aims at
exchanging information about educational service providers operating in the
UAE.
