With the participation of one million students from the State’s schools, the Ministry of Education celebrates Martyr’s Day with magnificent events commemorating the nation’s martyrs.
The Ministry of Education celebrated Martyr’s Day at its headquarters in Dubai today, in the presence of H.E Jameela Bint Salim Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, where the Ministry organized events worthy of such an occasion that began with a one minute prayer for the nation’s virtuous martyrs. One million students from the State’s schools participated in this national occasion by organizing various events, aimed at instilling the culture of belonging to one’s country.
Those participating in the Ministry’s events included H.E Marwan Al Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Academic Affairs, H.E Kholoud Al Qasimi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Control Sector, H.E. Fawzia Gharib, Assistant Undersecretary for the School Operations Sector, and H.E. Dr. Amna Al Dahhak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare & Activities Sector, in addition to Ministry employees and a large number of students.
Events began with an ensign lowering ceremony at 8am. Thereafter, H.E Jameela Bint Salim Al Muhairi, in the presence of Ministry leaders and employees, hoisted the State’s flag while playing the national anthem. This was followed by the participating students taking the oath of allegiance to the State and wise leadership. Student Ghaith Abdullah Ashour, the son of the nation’s martyr, Abdullah Ashour, then gave a speech recalling the martyrs’ sacrifices and pledging to God and the nation to continue in the footsteps of our virtuous martyrs.
The events expressed the significant status of the martyrs in the hearts of the nation’s people and continued existence of their memory in the souls of the wise leadership and people of the UAE.
The Ministry of Education communicated with all schools under its umbrella to organize events in celebration of Martyr’s Day, since this is a national occasion that recalls the sacrifices of the courageous UAE citizens during the call of duty. A million students, from schools in the State, participated in those events which have a significant impact on intensifying the sense of national identity in students, and instilling values of loyalty and belonging to the State and its wise leadership. Schools prepared paintings extoling martyrs and highlighting their value in the souls of their people
The Ministry ensured participation of all schools during Martyr’s Day in light of the Ministry’s pivotal role in instilling such occasions in the minds of students for their great impact on the development of students’ national character.
