Baroness Greenfield is Professor of Pharmacology at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. She researches the effects of scientific and technological advancements on the human brain and is particularly interested in the impact of modern technology on child development.

Reforming national education benchmarks for competitiveness  Dr John Cresswell
Presentation: International testing: the Gulf experience.
Dr John Cresswell is a principal research fellow with the Australian Council for Educational Research [ACER]. He was the National Project Manager of the Programme for International Student Assessment [PISA] in Australia. Dr Cresswell has recently returned to ACER after five years in the Directorate for Education at the OECD in Paris. In this position he monitored the implementation of PISA in the 60 participating countries.

Professor Jasim Al Ajmi is a Corporate Governance expert, co-founder and deputy chairman of the Bahrain Competitiveness Council and Professor of Finance and Corporate Governance at the University of Bahrain. He is currently leading the team that will author the Bahrain Competitiveness Report for 2010.

Presentation: Improving teacher quality: attracting and developing tomorrow’s teachers.
David is Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Plymouth in the UK. He founded the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching - set up to provide help and support to mathematics teachers around the world through research, development, evaluation and dissemination of good practice in mathematics teaching and learning.

Michael Stevenson is Vice President Global Education with Cisco Systems, responsible for developing Cisco's education strategy. He is the author of ‘Equipping Every Learner for the 21st Century’, and has supported education reform in the United States, Australia and Mexico. He was previously Director of Strategy and Communications at the UK department for Education.
