Dr Chan Lee

Dr Chan Lee is a professor with a PhD in Vocational Education and Workforce Development at Seoul National University in Korea. Prior to being a professor, Dr Lee worked at LG Electronics in the USA as the HRD (Human Resource Development) team leader. Dr Lee has been delivering lectures and doing research focused on education for innovation and entrepreneurship, knowledge work, theories and applications of performance management system, job analysis, and competency-based curricula in many countries. Dr Lee holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from The Ohio State University in the USA and a BA from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea.

Dr Lee has frequently participated as a speaker and lecturer at many international conferences in the USA, France, Ireland, China, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Currently he is a member of the world’s largest HRD professional organization, ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) Program Advisory Committee.


He participated as a speaker for the sessions:

  • What’s New in Workplace Learning and Performance in Asia at the ASTD 2007 International Conference & Exposition (ICE)
  • Talent Management in Korea at the ASTD 2008 ICE
  • The Offshore Perspective: Designing E-Learning at the ASTD 2009 ICE
  • How Culture Influences Learning and Performance Methods and Designed for the Multinational Learners
  • Cross Cultural E-Learning at the ASTD 2010 ICE
Dr Lee has also contributed to the HRD field with his case study co-authored with Yuh-Soon Yun: ‘Using the Six Sigma Approach to Structured OJT of LG Electronics’ (2002) in the 27th book titled as ‘Implementing On-the-Job Learning’ of the IN ACTION Series.
